Rio LX

The base trim of the 2018 Kia Rio is known as the Rio LX. This model comes with a 1.6-liter engine capable of generating 130 horsepower and 119 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Aesthetically, the LX trim is distinguished by a black mesh radiator grille, halogen headlights, and an available Aurora Black Pearl premium paint job. Inside the cabin, the LX trim features a 5-inch touch screen for all of your entertainment needs, as well as a USB/auxiliary input jack and steering wheel-mounted audio control buttons. The starting MSRP for this model is $13,900.

Rio S

Upgrade to the Rio S trim if you’re looking for a few added luxuries in your Kia Rio. This second model is powered by the same 1.4-liter engine as the Rio LX, but it’s exclusively paired with the six-speed automatic transmission for maximum accessibility.

The appearance of this trim level is set apart by its body-color door handles and body-color, power-heated mirrors. On the inside, you’ll have access to a six-speaker audio system, remote keyless entry technology, and a standard rear camera display to make backing up and parking easier than ever before. The Rio S starts at an MSRP of $16,100.

Rio EX

Choose the Rio EX if you want to experience Kia’s top-of-the-line features. This version of the subcompact sedan uses the same engine as the first two trims, but it really differentiates itself from the rest of the pack by offering a variety of luxurious and convenient perks.

For example, the Rio EX comes standard with Siri Eyes Free technology, voice recognition software, and compatibility with both Android and Apple mobile devices. In addition to these features, you’ll also reap the benefits of active safety technologies like autonomous emergency braking and forward collision warning software. This trim starts at an MSRP of $18,400.

Launch Edition

Most buyers will only have the opportunity to choose between the Rio LX, Rio S, and Rio EX trims. But during the 2018 model year, lucky drivers might have the chance to snag the Launch Edition. The Launch Edition is a version of the Rio EX trim equipped with a special package of features, including red or brown partial leather seat trim. The Launch Edition also comes with padded armrests for the front-row seats and eye-catching horizontal lines along the dashboard and center console. The Launch Edition is limited to just 1,000 cars, so act fast if you’re interested in this premium model.

With the 2018 Kia Rio, the manufacturer has proven that great things really do come in small packages. With all of the robust features in this capable little car, there’s bound to be a trim that matches your needs.
