Interior

The cargo area of the new Kia Sedona starts out with 33.9 cubic feet, but once you remove all of the second and third-row seats you can use it to store up to 142 cubic feet of cargo. You can also spend that space on passengers since all three rows come with enough space to comfortably seat adults and both the front and second rows get over 40 inches of legroom. The second row comes standard with two separate seats, but high trims let you get an available fold-out center seat or swap in reclining lounge seats.

Engine

Each trim of the 2019 Kia Sedona comes with a 3.3-liter V-6, and this engine offers 276 horsepower with 248 pound-feet of torque. With the right towing equipment, this engine lets the Sedona tow trailers weighing up to 3,500 pounds. The transmission is a six-speed automatic, but you can shift manually thanks to the standard Sportmatic shift mode. Front-wheel drive comes standard, and the best available gas mileage is 24 miles per gallon on the highway and 18 mpg in the city.

Performance

Comfort is the highest priority of the 2019 Sedona's design, which is why it gives every passenger a comfortable ride even when you're on bumpy roads. At the same time, the Sedona's standard engine has plenty of power for the minivan's size, making it simple enough to merge or pass other vehicles on the highway. Then there's the Sedona's Active Eco system, an electronic program you can activate to regulate the engine, transmission, and even the air conditioner to make the most of every gallon of gas.

Safety

Minivan buyers usually consider safety important, which is why the 2018 Sedona comes standard with rollover mitigation, the Traction Control System with Electronic Stability Control, the Brake Assist System, Cornering Brake Control, and six air bags. If that's not enough, you can get a higher trim and add systems like the Forward Collision Warning System with Emergency Autonomous Braking, the Lane Departure Warning System, and front and rear parking sensors.
