Trim Levels (Exterior)

The 2020 Kia Stinger is in its fourth year, so not much is new, though Kia did simplify the trim levels for this year. You can opt for rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive on all trim levels. The GT-Line is the only trim level that comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine while the other three trim levels come with a 3.3-liter V6 engine. The GT-Line features 18-inch wheels and paddle shifters. The GT features a limited-slip differential and 19-inch wheels. The GT1 features additional driver safety aids, and the GT2 adds a power trunk and surround-view monitor.

Engine (Power)

The 2020 Kia Stinger comes with two engines. The base model features a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 255 horsepower. The GT, GT1 and GT2 feature the 3.3-liter V6 with twin turbos, which makes 365 horsepower. Both engines are backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available. The 2.0-liter gets 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, while the V6 gets 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Add all-wheel drive and Stinger gets 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

Performance

While the 2.0-liter engine makes plenty of power, if you really want to have the sport-car feel, go for a trim level with the 3.3-liter V6 engine. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. The suspension makes for a very comfortable ride, at the same time, keeping the car tight in the curves. Both engines have good acceleration and excellent handling. Communicative steering and the cushy suspension give you the best combination of luxury and sport.

Interior

The roomy interior of the 2020 Kia Stinger seats five people. The hatchback allows easy access to the 23.3 cubic foot cargo area behind the seats. Fold the rear seat down if you need more space – 40.9 cubic feet. The comfortable front seats keep fatigue away on long road trips; the rear seats are equally comfortable. The Stinger comes standard with heated front seats and leather upholstery. The rear outboard seats have the LATCH child safety seat system, though the anchors are set in pretty deep. Road noise and wind noise are minimal. Tech features include a wireless charging, satellite radio, HD radio, 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and two USB ports.

Safety Features

The 2020 Kia Stinger earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s highest rating of Good across the board. Additionally, it received the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Safety features include rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring as standard equipment.
